The official long stay car park for Southampton Airport is located just 5 minutes from the Terminal Building. Should you be unlucky enough to need it on your return, this car park offers a courtesy jump-start service.

This car park operates an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system, so it is essential that you enter the correct vehicle registration when making your booking. Please bring your printed booking confirmation to the car park. Drive up to the entry barrier, wait 10 seconds while your number plate is read, then a ticket will be issued showing your booking reference and the barrier will lift automatically. If the barrier does not lift, please press the button for a ticket. Park your vehicle and board the transfer bus for the airport.

If you experience any difficulties on arrival, please press the call button for assistance. It may help if you have your booking confirmation to hand.

departure

Upon your return to the parking compound, drive your vehicle up to the exit barrier and insert the ticket that was issued when you entered the car park. The barrier will open and you may proceed to exit the car park.

If you have any difficulties, or if you had to press the button for a ticket upon entering, please present your booking confirmation and entry ticket to a parking attendant, who will assist in your exit.

The facilities were not that bad but when I arrived I had to get a general ticket out of machine. On leaving I had to contact parking staff as it looked like I would have to pay 33.00 GBP. On contacting staff whilst at the barrier this was resolved very quickly and efficiently on supplying my name & registration number.

This was a very conveniently placed car-park with short transfer time to Southampton Airport (<5 min) and with a frequent transfer bus service. My only suggestion for improvement is that when I went to leave the car park at the exit barrier, I inserted my ticket which was issued to me at the time of my arrival. I was then asked to pay a large sum of money in spite of having prepaid for my parking through gosimply.com. I pressed the button requesting assistance, pointed out that I had already prepaid for parking, I gave my name, car number, and reference number, and the barrier promptly opened allowing my exit. I felt that this process should have been automated. Based upon my experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this car park.

Directions for last few hundred yards need to be clearer. There is no right turn past the airport terminal building. You just keep on driving until you cannot go any further as the carpark entry barrier is there. Friendly and helpful attendant at airport drop off zone sent us in the correct direction.

Would use again - plenty of parking spaces and we didnt have to wait long for a bus. There was also plenty of seats available on the bus and lots of room to store our luggage.

On return, the driver and other regular passengers were unable to identify the correct drop off stop for the bus. The stops had a very small identification letter which is invisible from the bus and driver didn't know the correct letter for the stop - he dropped us at the wrong one! Suggest large letters on stops easily seen by passengers and drivers and introduce parking zones and space numbering to assist in tracing vehicles.

All worked well except for the automatic number plate recognition on arrival. However when retrieving the vehicle the instruction to cotact the custome help worked efficiently and there was no delay on exiting from the long stay car park. RG Akhurst

It was simple to book on-line and I got excellent directions to the airport. When I got there I just followed the straight forward signs and drove through to the Long Stay section. The gate opened, just like I was informed it would and I parked without difficulty. Within minutes a bus had arrived very near to where I'd parked and I got on and was delivered to the door of the departure area of the airport. It was just as trouble-free to do the process in reverse- when I returned from my holiday.I'll have no hesitation doing it again.
