East Midlands Airport Hotel Reviews

"A lovely hotel. I can highly recommend it. Ours was a beautiful big room well stocked with all the usual complimentary bits and bobs. We had holiday parking at the hotel and hassle free transfers to and from the airport just a couple of miles away. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful... even for one of our transfers at 5 o'clock in the morning. We met with friends for a meal in the very smart upmarket restaurant, and while the meals aren't cheap the quality of the food was excellent. Our dining experience was marred a little. Firstly my wife ordered lamb, and got just lamb. Because it's one of those upmarket restaurants where you have to specify potatoes and vegetables when you order else you don't get any, which I find both irritating and a little embarrassing. (Yes, I'm sure it says so somewhere on the menu but we were too busy catching up with old friends to pay much attention.) And secondly, the desserts tended to be disappointingly tiny and 'drizzled'. I know it's down to personal preference but my preference along with many other folk I suspect is for at least one dessert menu item that is hearty and served swimming in custard. (They can even call it Creme Anglaise in order to maintain their most excellent standards if it makes them happy.)"

"No space left to park at the hotel, had to park opposite side of road in a business car park. Was told to leave keys at reception and they would move car when space available, car was still in original space when we returned, even though there was room in the car park. Transfer to airport in taxi was ok. However on return told no shuttle bus service available, told to take a taxi. Trying to get a taxi at airport was virtually impossible, queues galore. Decided to walk back to hotel, a good 10 minute brisk walk, when we got back to hotel, shuttle bus was sat outside Reception. Good hotel for the money but the transfers let it down, probably be better off parking at the airport."

"We used the hotel using the park and stay package when we went abroad this year. The whole experience was excellent. if i were to make any comment (not really negative) it is that when we returned from our holiday we were given a 'what to do' sheet. it said to phone a number upon return. we phoned the number 6 times and the call wasnt answered. we decided to go outside and try and work out what to do next when we were met by a driver from The Hilton who was very apologetic about the missunderstanding. He was an absolute delight. Would def use this service again :)"

"I would highly recommend this hotel. It was easy to get to, comfortable hotel with excellent service. The transfer service was with local taxi firm with an office just opposite the arrival terminal. We walked straight into the taxi office, the car was waiting and we were at the hotel and collecting the car within 10 mins."

"We flew at 6.30am on a Monday moring. Wed ecided to stay teh Sunday night before we flew, this made the whole experience so much less stressful. The Hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of the terminal. We ate in the bar area on the evening and the food was top quality if slightly expensive. I would recommend staying at this Hotel to anyone with a early flight. It added to our Holiday experience and will definately be returning later in the year when we go away again."

"Staying at Donington Park made the trip so stress free. The room was really comfortable. The only problem we had was initially finding the car park. The directions on the confirmation weren't very clear. It would have been much clearer had it said to turn right at the 2nd set of lights, omitting any reference to the first set."
