Cheviot Lounge

After years of experience in the departures area at Newcastle and other Airports, children racing about unsupervised,spilled drinks dirty tables, preposterous prices etc,we tried Cheviot Lounge, Bliss comfort peace quiet and free drinks and snacks a hospitable and friendly staff all we could ask.

The lounge is clean and bright, only let down by holidaymakers noisely getting stuck in to the free food & drink

On arrival we were greeted by a nice young lady who checked my receipt then myself and friends went to find a seat together which eventually we did but every table was full of empty bottles plates papers etc, I found a tray where the glasses were meant to be and cleared the tables ourselves which I have to say was very dissappointing after all the reviews we have had from friends etc, it was about 40 mins later that a lady came round to clear up.

Brilliant way to start your holiday in a very relaxed and comfortable surrounding.

Used lounge twice when travelling in the afternoon. Find it very comfortable and relaxing to start of holiday. Enjoy snacks and drinks relaxing with papers and magazines before embarking on plane. Much more comfortable and enjoy a drink and coffee instead of using inflight facilities.

We have been using the lounge for years and still would recommend it to anyone. The atmosphete is calm and relaxing. It is the ideal place to have a drink at the start of tour holiday.

Staff very friendly, were delayed but stayed in lounge for extrra hour, comfortable and quite.

Comfortable seats in pleasant and peaceful surroundings. The lounge is never overcrowded and you can enjoy a relaxing few drinks whilst waiting to board the plane (no screaming children). The staff are friendly and helpful and the time passes so quickly you don't realise you've been checked in for 3 hours! Well worth paying that little bit extra to get your holiday off to a good start.

I have found the times I have used the Cheviot lounge not to have been the most memorable experience of part of my travels. There is little choice in the way of snacks however the liquid refreshments are very good and varied. I have also found the staff who greet you when you enter are not the most cheerful, the last couple of times I was there, they usually were chatting to other members of staff, who appear to "just pop in for a chat". Not at all professional in my opinion. I have travelled through Newcastle International airport many times, I amazes me that it can be called international, compared to other airports I visit I can honestly say it's about ten years behind. I find the staff especially going through security are the most unhappy people who do nothing to ensure visitors to the area ever want to return.

A comfortable place away from the noise of the main terminal. Staff friendly. Chairs could be a bit more comfortable. Would pay a little more for optional food such as sandwiches, etc. Toilets could be cleaner.
