For anyone with a layover of more than 2 hours at Abu Dhabi then this really should be considered. The airport has few places to pass your time and is not more than a stretched waiting lounge that's noisy. Because of the layout of the waiting areas (at the gates) you're frequently far from what little service the airport offers - toilets, food and duty free. The lounge offers a quiet place to while away your time. The 4 hours we spent there went quickly and with good food, free drinks (and bar), great showers, plenty of electrical sockets, a good selection of magazines, business facilities and a kids room, what more could you need? The staff were polite and attentive and the environment was clean and quiet. I mention the quietness as I often find travelling through airports a stressful experience but this totally diffused that. Upon leaving the lounge we re-entered the noisy environment of the airport and our stress levels increased. The lounge is comfortable quiet and adequately serviced and offers a welcome retreat between flights. Recommended.

Decided to use the lounge as had a 5 hour stopover with two kids aged 5 and 3. The lounge was clean, quiet and spacious. The staff were unobtrusive and welcoming. The children's room (although facilities for English speaking kids could be improved) was a lifesaver for keeping noisy kids away from the other users who needed peace and quiet. I could use my ipad in peace while watching the kids in a safe place. The shower facilities were excellent and clean with free towels and toiletries. A good selection of food and readily available drinks at the buffet and bar. All in all- I would highly recommend the lounge.

Only warning---in the shower don't put your clothes too near as the water sprays out all over the floor. Otherwise everything fine.

I was annoyed to be charged extra to use the showers. They did not really explain their services or encourage use of what was on offer - and it was basically the reception lounge of the airport hotel. I had to go and sit in the corridor towards the sleeping rooms in order to charge my laptop. It's not worth 20 pounds / 30 dollars, so I would just take the 7 dollar shower and leave if on a budget
