Skylane was my first experience in London and I really felt welcome. The airport shuttle was a blessing. I enjoyed the quaint decor and the stroll down the nearby public path through the country meadow.

Hotel was good value for money, but rooms do get very hot on upper level. Coach driver told us after that you can ask for a fan to be put in the room - would recommend you ask.

This is a hotel that provides a clean bed and bathroom facilities, but where the layout, furnishings and carpets are all extremely "tired" and in need of upgrade or replacement. The "Secure Parking" is no such thing. Anybody can walk in off the street into the parking lot, which is a reclaimed uneven area of land and cars are crammed in extremely closely, so it is ineveitable that large cars will sustain damage to the sides from other car doors.

It was as I expected - clean basic room, and efficient parking system. I would consider using the hotel again.

The transfer to and from the airport was the best part about this. There were no worries about parking and there was a regular service in the minibus.

Would have been nice to have been picked up from the Airport on the return journey; apart from that all was ok!

Rooms are a bit dated and shabby, but you get what you pay for I suppose! Restaurant/bar didn't look very welcoming so went elsewhere. Parking round back of hotel was a bit rough. Cars parked bumper-to-bumper in mud puddles - not ideal. Wouldn't come again.

Nice friendly atmosphere, transfers to and from airport were very good. I would stay there again if I required to keep my car close to airport; in fact will use it again in July. Hotel could do with a lick of paint, but on the whole it was value for money.

I think the coach service could do with some improvement via the airport, as there were quite a few waiting at the airport for the same vehicle, and when you have been traveling all day you just want to get home, and there should be a bigger mode of transport i.e. coach.

The hotel was comfortable but in need of decoration, which probably reflects the price. The parking worked out fine, but the old chap was in a bit of a quandry who to pick up first when returning. Quite simple to work out, pick people up in order of telephone contact.

Although the staff were friendly and helpful, the room we had had holes in skirting board, and very worn carpet. The shower in the bathroom did not work and we had to use another room to shower. But overall it was a good night's sleep before long journey to Egypt next day.

The experience was fine. I would stay there again but not for more than one night. There were three of us in the room and we all woke up with back pain from the beds. The hotel was clean...basically what you pay for is what you get.

I was not happy at having to leave my car keys with the hotel, when I could have parked it round the back myself. The delay on pickup for a booked flight was unacceptable, especially as we were told the next minibus was full, when in fact there was spare room in it.

We were unaware that we would be charged for the return transfer to the hotel, otherwise fine.

The hotel is cheap, but not cheap enough to make up for the smoke smell, the very old and poor decor, and the unwelcoming service. The only decent thing was the driver who had a marginal sense of humour, probably due to the fact that he did not have to stay in the hotel.

I think this hotel needs some refurbishment and replumbing. Our towel rail leaked and the bathroom floor flooded in the middle of the night. The night porter was very concerned and anxious to help - gave us towels to mop up with. Reception person didn't even come to the desk to help - just stayed in back room and discussed situation with night porter. Next morning I suggested we might be offered a discount, or a free breakfast, to make up for the inconvenience and was met with an embarrassed laugh and told because I'd booked through an agency, nothing could be done. That's a feeble excuse. On our return stay, there was a power cut for several hours! It was outwith the hotel's control of course, but a few flasks of hot coffee (the kitchen uses gas which was unaffected) in reception would have been welcome.

The hotel was easy to find and only 15mins from airport. Shuttle bus runs every 30 mins (Although our preferred time was not available as full so had to get earlier bus). Rooms very basic and need updating, bed uncomfortable. Staff helpful, and on return the free phone system works well - located at bus stop 11 at arrivals.
