Sofitel Hotel reviews

On arrival hotel looked good, reception staff were quite rude, not very helpful at all, hotel restaurant was very expensive, not very good food. Hotel rooms were poor, inexpensive furnishing, very basic similar to a basic hotel, bathrooms were poor not very clean, Very expensive for a poor quality, we are used to staying in expensive hotels and always, get value for money, we dont mind paying for good quality service, but this hotel rates very low, would never visit again.

This hotel is probably the best one we have stayed at in London. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and very quiet.

I booked this hotel for my son who was arriving in the evening and flying out the next day. It was important that he could reach the hotel without having to get transport and that I could pre-pay, worked out fine.

All in all our stay at the Gatwick Sofitel was very enjoyable. The Receptionist who dealt with our arrival was polite and very helpful, and it was so easy to use the Personal Parking service. Also the ease of being able to walk straight into the Airport Terminal takes away any worries of waiting for transport from other Car Parks. Everything in our room was clean and tidy, and I love the toiletries in the bathroom!

The room I had been given was newly refurbished and was perfect; the bed was incredibly confortable and cleanliness was first rate. Watch out though because not all the rooms have been modernised and the older rooms are quite shabby.

Had an early flight, but had trouble getting to sleep in part due to noise from other rooms / corridor.

I would definitely choose the Sofitel hotel again if I required an overnight stop at Gatwick Airport.

Although we had to change our holiday destination after booking this hotel and thus fly from the other terminal, the transfer was no problem. We were there within minutes and it was quick and smooth even with the suitcases. Coach transfers to the long stay car park were regular and the drivers were helpful. The hotel was very nice and although the food and wine was expensive for us, it was still very good, i guess you get what you pay for.

As the hotel's own car park was not full we were invited to park there, which meant on return we were in our car 5mins after arrival. Great. Would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Great hotel; very comfortable rooms and good check in /out. Recommend to all; enjoyed the stay. It's a pity we did not have longer to enjoy it all.

We arrived late after a 6 hour flight- reception staff were very friendly but efficient & we were soon on our way to our room. The room was lovely & quiet!

The reception area is beautiful, polite staff at check in, made everything go smooth and easy. Lovely room, spotless.

Worked out perfectly for our early morning flight the next day and we had a lovely evening meal on arrival - excellent experience and all the staff were very attentive and helpful.

Wonderful hotel - comfortable rooms with all conveniences. And that walk into the airport in the morning with no hassle is just fabulous! However, suggest you eat before you arrive as dining is expensive.

Overall, a great start to the holiday as it's so convenient. Good atmosphere in the hotel.

I would use this hotel again. It was a nice way to start our holiday hassle free and totally relaxed. No mad dashes to airport or traffic jams to worry about.

Outward journey fine, but the check in was lengthy due to lack of staff on desks. Return journey a non smoking room was requested and we were allocated a smoking room which was not very pleasant.

We parked our hire car, checked in, went over to the South terminal to return the car, caught the bus back and walked through the connecting covered walkway to the Sofitel Hotel! What could be more convenient? No more putting luggage on and off transfer coaches and no transfers needed to and from Gatwick.
