The hotel is situated in an ideal position, the service is spot on and facilities are excellent.
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere providing great start to our holiday. Staff were very efficient and the offer of reduced price breakfast was an added bonus. room was spotless and just what we required. Car park was adequate for the duration of the stay. Would certainly recommend and use again.
From the moment we entered reception,we were greeted by warm and friendly staff, who indicated that nothing was too much trouble for them. If we needed anything, all we had to do was ask. True to their word, nothing seemed to be a trouble or bother for them. The restaurant and bar facilities were extremely good,as was food. The rooms were a bit on the small side, but clean and well equipped. At all times, staff were courtious and polite. Over all an extremely pleasant stay. Steve and Lesley Edmondson, Ulverston, Cumbria.
chill out way to start holiday no worries about traffic on the day of travel got up and walked to airport
The proximity to the airport, and the fact that I could leave my car in their car park for the duration of my holiday, were definitely deciding factors in choosing the Britannia Hotel. The reception staff were helpful with good customer service qualities.
Our overnight stay at the hotel before flying out of Newcastle Airport was very relaxing. We were disappointed at first that the free transfer mini bus was no longer available, but it was just a 4 minute walk over the road to the Airport. We would definitely use this facility of an overnight stay and parking on any future holidays.
We required to change rooms a the bed valance was soiled with blood (fresh - not an old stain). Even with the new room the 'white' bedlinen was 'grey' and while I am sure it was clean it gives the impression that it's not
Did not get a double non smoking room as requested. Was offered a double smoking room which smelt of smoke , carpet was stained and divan trim was dirty. Eventually we got a non smoking twin room which was OK. Although our stay was only for 1 night we expected better.
Took the hassle and worry out of using the A1 during the peak period in the morning. Arrived late afternoon, nice room, tea making facilities, good nights sleep, early call, nice breakfast. 5 minutes to check in. Couldn't have been easier. Will use again & again.
The staff at this hotel are always friendly and welcoming. After a good night's sleep the driver took us across to the airport as soon as we arrived in reception. Excellent service.
slightly better signage to the hotel would have been beneficial, but having been once it's easy!We just walked across from the hotel to the terminal, which was very convenient.
we have used this hotel several times in the past and had no problems. we arrived to find the three bedded room we had booked had only 2.The next morning we needed to leave on the 0600 service they provideto the airport in the past was a minibus. It had not been organised for the number of guests needing to be transported to the airport and one taxi was taking 3 people at a time which resulted in my family not arriving there until 0645 which should be a 2 minute journey. very disappointed.
Outside is misleading (a bit shabby) but is ok when you go into hotel. Would def.return - it's clean and good value for money.
Stayed here on 20/07/07 for one night before early morning flight to Menorca. The room we had was small; the heating in the room was unbearable due to a steam pipe running through from one side of the room to the next room. They supplied a fan but did not help even with the window open all night got no sleep at all, double bed smallest I have ever seen, the car park is a joke no security cars parked anywhere there is space up on the grass bank. We would not stay here ever again.
Ideally situated, functional hotel with on-site parking and efficient transfer system.
Friendly and efficient reception staff. Room clean and spacious for overnight stay. Room service breakfast excellent. Bar area disappointing - rather grubby and so didn't feel like staying for long.
Really felt that staying and parking was good value for money and though we don't live that far away from the airport found the experience very relaxing.
Relaxed - stress free start to the holiday.
Can't fault the Hotel or staff in anyway, polite and helpful with a sense of humour which sadly is lacking in alot of Hotels these days. I will certainly be using the Britannia Hotel again and recommending to friends and colleagues.
