When we arrived at 9:30 pm on 6 November I could find nowhere to park and, after about 30 minutes was directed to park alongside the road at the rear of the hotel. This was well out of site of any staff so security would have been minimal or non-existent and, because this was the only way out of the hotel parking area and the road was narrow, the probability of my car being damaged by passing traffic was very high On my return on 12 November the car was covered in leaves and a sticky substance that had dripped off the surrounding trees. It was thus necessary for me to find water and a cloth to wash the front and rear windscreens before the car could be driven safely, especially with the low sun. This was not a welcome experience after a 10 hour flight from San Francisco. I will certainly not be using the Thistle Hotel again and will not be recommending it to any of my acquaintances Roger Rackham

We had a reasonably pleasant stay at the Thistle. For only £45 a room - you can't go wrong really. The check in staff were ok, given the hight turnover of guests, I would expect it to be a little swifter. Once we dumped the bags we opted to eat in the 'bar' on the first floor and had a reasonable meal. After a good nights sleep we checked out which again seemed a ridiculously long procedure! Wish I had paid for parking at reception instead of the machines outside as its cheaper for residence. Overall the hotel was clean and average...

The hotel room clean and functional staff were helpfull. The parking was not very well organised and rather overcrowded. Not clear what you should do on departure.

It was all OK although I couldn't get out of the car park and had to come back into reception. It was also a long way from the car park to reception with a suitcase - unless there was another way that wasn't sign posted?

I was extremely disappointed with the booking. I made a reservation for a twin bed room. I ended up sleeping on the floor. i spoke to a guy on the phone to make sure that there were 2 beds and there was only one when i got there at 2am. Being tired i couldnt be bothered to argue and slept on the floor. So your service was extremely poor and i wont be using you again to book a hotel which i book frequently.

This hotel and parking service was very good and met our needs. We managed to find a parking space set on it's own so felt sure our car was safe. Other spaces were not so good and I would have worried that our car may have been damaged by less careful owners. The transfer to the airport was quick and efficient. People using this service should be reminded of the need to put the parking ticket in a safe place for retrieval. Would use again.

friendly staff in every aspect except house keeping (entered room with a knock 3 times even though do not disturb sign showing) plenty of space to park all inside barrier (safe) not impressed with taxi service, late both ways not really hotels fault check out hand dryers in receptions male toilets awsome!!! i would use this hotel again easy acces to motorway 15 mins from terminal 1 clean and good for one nights stay. make sure you book a ground floor if you have cases no lifts

Drinks very expensive, rooms spread out over several floors and no lift. Shuttle stops right outside, but £4 each one-way. Room OK but a bit faded.

Easy to find: easy getting to/from M25. Simple rooms, but perfectly adequate. Noise levels low despite being very close to Airport. Used this hotel several times and would consider it one of the better low cost options.

Use of this hotel for overnight stay and parking prior to flight departure extremely convenient and very good value considering that the parking charge alone elsewhere could easily have been much higher, and having the car available on our return very reassuring.

Check in was busy, but staff very efficient and courteous. Collection on return was excellent. Transfer to terminal good, but return was marred by delay and no information at the pick-up stand. Other Hoppa drivers unable or unwilling to comment on reasons.

Needed a hotel that allows dogs in the rooms which this one does. Excellent value for money. Did not need to use restaurant or transfers to airport. Would certainly use again.

There is a lot of parking here, but some is hidden behind the hotel - you need to look for it. Don't be put off when arriving at the front of the hotel! If you're just making a quick overnight stop before flying early then bring your own food or pop in to the Macdonalds just down the road!

The hotel was central. All staff encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. Will certainly use them again.

The food was good and the room was very comfortable. I would have preferred to be able to open a window or at least have a fan light to allow fresh air into the room.

The Thistle Hotel was a little difficult to find, but once there everything was fine and it only took 15 mins to transfer to the airport.

I really liked the layout of the rooms as I was travelling with my two adult children and they had their own space. Hotel staff were all great and made us feel very welcome.
