Room had no opening window, so tended to be stuffy. Shower was a pathetic trickle, and when switched off continued to drip all night! The door key was bent and wouldn't open the door, and had to be replaced. Altogether not an experience I will not be repeating.

This hotel is very reasonable for a quick stopover and parking facilities. Staff could be more helpful and proffessional and the food on offer needs to be much improved but for the price it is good value

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel before and have found it quite a pleasant experience on both occasions. Our only gripe is that if you get there after 9.30pm after travelling for 4 hours there is not much of a selection of food available. Apart from that I would certainly stay there again if the occasion arose.

We have stayed at the Russ Hill many times and find it extremely good value for money, especially if you can get a twin room for £46.00 as we did this time. Not sure if I would stay there if it were £80, which is the sum my friends had to pay.

The hotel is fine, we have stayed there many times before. Fairly basic - could offer better accommodation and definitely more enticing food options. Staff very friendly.

The hotel rooms are very basic but for the money we paid it was ideal for 1 night and to keep the car parked for 15 days. The restaurant and bar staff were not particularly helpful but this was due to their lack of English.

Generally very good apart from room temperature and bed being in an alcove made it seem smalled than it was especially witha shelf with tv on over end of bed. Generally happy with package for cost.

Our stay was a great start to our holiday. The hotel is an impressive building in a beautiful rural location - under the flightpath of course but the planes don't fly at night. We had a fantastic meal at the nearby Plough in Rusper. The room was small but we expected that. Maybe we were lucky that our neighbours were quiet.

The hotel was hard to find, even though we had directions. It's tucked away and not clearly sign posted. On arrival, there was a wedding reception taking place so we could not get to our room easily. We were directed up two flights of stairs, which is not ideal when you have heavy suitcases! It was disappointing that there was only one bus service per hour to the airport. We also found it very was noisy so we did not get a good night's sleep before catching our flight.

the room was a single room with two single beds in it, one bed was accessed only by climbing from the bottom of the bed. The room was directly over the kitchen with cooking smells and noise from ventilators, on a hot night unable to open windows for ventilation

A good experience on all counts from the hotel,we would definitely use them again. One word of caution-when using the return bus from the airport double check the destination with the driver,as when we boarded the correctly numbered bus we,and some other guests, found that the driver had displayed the wrong route number and only spoke broken English, which resulted in us taking a tour of the wrong hotel and then returning to the airport to wait for the correct bus wasting a lot of time and effort.

The Hotel advertises the large grounds but don't say these are for the parking. Facilities basic, no soap/shampoo in dispensers. Decoration tired in some areas. Sound proofing between rooms very poor. Conversations could be heard without their voices raised. Would not use this hotel again.

My experience was mostly bad unfortunately. The meal that I had in the Italian Restuarant was revolting and set me back £20 to add insult to injury. Got up for the 5am transfer to discover that the bus had broken down and there was NO BACK UP PLAN. Luckily the bus being 20 minutes late didn't make me miss my flight, but it did leave me at the end of a very long check in queue with no time to get any breakfast. When you return....if you're lucky then you get back to Gatwick and get straight onto the transfer bus. If like me you just miss one then you have to wait an hour for the next one.

Not a bad experience all in all, but it is quite a bit further out from other Gatwick Hotels and the buses aren't that frequent. Hotel was OK, nothing special by any stretch of the imagination. Food and drinks were really expensive and the wine was awful and the cider was flat! Smiley reception staff and in the resturant, but don't exect welcoming smiles in the bar!

The only thing that makes this worthwhile is that you are near the airport and can park there for your holiday. The room was the size of a broom cupboard with no window or air con.

Quite an old hotel but did the job. We had to pay an extra day's parking which was £5 more, did not expect this as website said 15 days parking, but this did not include the night b4 we flew in (2 weeks from Sunday to Monday morning). V punctual and not over-cramped shuttle service to and from aiport (although this was an extrA £10 for the 2 of us). So add £15 if you are away for 2 weeks and want shuttle to and from airport (£5 extra day's parking and £2.50 per person per shuttle trip). You get the shuttle tickets at the hotel lobby from a machine so take cash for that. Overall it was convenient for us as we live 2 hours from Gatwick and XL airways operate a twilight check-in if flying the next day b4 12 midday, so we went up the evening b4 flying, checked in an dropped off suitcases at the airport, then checked in at the hotel, drove to the Hungry Horse pub and then got a decent night's sleep once got used to the planes every 10 mins.

This hotel is what you would expect for the price. The drinks were very expensive, but you would expect that at any hotel. The rooms were a bit dated, but comfertable enough for a one night stop over before going on holiday

It was cheap, convenient, and we didn't have to go off and park miles away and find our way back by bus which is normally what happens. I will use again.

I was not happy to pay an additional Days parking because the plane was late and we had to wait over an hour for the bus to arrive.
