The motorways in UK are so busy and cannot take a chance on being on time anywhere so was put onto staying over at Gatwick, which was really good and the hotel was in such a lovely setting in the country but yet near the airport. I would stay there next time back and getting to the airport was so easy I thank you for your help, will recommend to friends visiting from Canada. Thank you.

Very basic accomodation, but it was just for one night at a very reasonable rate. I guess you get what you pay for.

A reasonable hotel, decor a little jaded. Bus transfer to airport and back was very efficient and spot on time in both directions.

Once we found the hotel, finding parking at the hotel was troublesome, and the cost of the restaurants was geared to airport prices. Overall it was very convenient and the room rate was good.

The hotel offers a quick and effective parking facility, the only down side - snacks and meals were extremely exspensive- very much felt they were catering to a 'captive audience'

Good value for money, and a good choice of restaurants. Basic room had a very small bed so should consider upgrade. Overall rating I would use this hotel again.

The directions were a little difficult to follow but all right as long as one kept going. Pity all the grounds are now car park.

As warned by other reviewers, the hotel is hard to find (unless you have Sat Nav) and unexpectedly way out into what feels like countryside. Check in and parking were fine though lots of pot holes in car park and very tight spaces. Hotel rooms rather shabby and small. Noise of other travellers arriving and departing at all hours was a nuisance but didn't stop us sleeping, although the beds were not terribly comfortable. Bathroom VERY small but adequate. Did not use restaurant facilities. We pre-purchased our transfer bus tickets on arrival, ready for the following morning and the shuttle left on time. We calculated that unless you arrived back for approx quarter-past the hour to pick up the returning shuttle we would have to wait up to an hour so in fact chose to get a taxi back on our return (paid £12.50). Car had been moved but was OK and easy to find. All in all, an average/good experience.

Generally a good hotel for the price paid. We tried the restaurant food for the first time in July this year and the pizzas are to be recommended, but the salads are extortionate for what you get - £3.50 for 1 sliced tomato with some oil drizzled on top! We would use the hotel again though, due to the convenient location and good parking and shuttle bus service .

Receptionist suggested I catch the 6.00am shuttle from hotel to catch 7.30am flight. Fortunately wide awake at 3.00am and went for 5.00am bus. Just as well, the queue for bagdrop was very long and would have been nailbiting experience.

The hotel is a few miles from the airport, tucked away down a narrow country lane with very little room for passing vehicles. The grounds and exterior view of the hotel are impressive. Unfortunately, I found one member of the reception staff very unfriendly upon arrival, however, all further experiences with hotel staff were pleasant. The room was very small and dated, but sufficed for a night's sleep prior to transfer to the airport. Unfortunately the hotel transfer bus service only operates every hour, which is a long wait when arriving back in the UK and wanting to get home.

After our visit to Russ Hill we were suprised to see that much has happened and for the better. We had already eaten, but if we had of known the bar had been improved, we would have given it a try. As we have said the room was clean and tidy and all we needed for the overnight stay, but the only thing that lets you down is the hourly service for the coach. We would like very much to see this improved before next year. We had just missed the coach, had to wait an hour,f or ourselves it was a bit of a drag, but we also noticed there was an elderly couple on the same flight home and they also had to wait an hour. It is the last thing you want after a day of airports etc. It seems to me that all the other hotels were doing 2-4 runs an hour. Other than this everything was great! Thanks Russ Hill.

Overall ok but room is tiny and very dated, TV must be 15 years old and the food & drinks are vastly overpriced. Convenient location.

Myself and my partner stayed here for one night 5/7/07 and paid £48 for the room. I found it great value for money. You could hear the planes flying overhead, but this stopped at around 11pm. There is ample parking and I was very pleased for the value of money we got. I would recommend this hotel for a budget overnight stay.

We checked in about 11:00 PM (Room 524). Upon entering the room, we decided we needed a wakeup call since we had to catch a 6:30 coach to the airport. The telephone was not attached, so we were not able to contact the operator for a call. We went to the desk to ask for help, since we could not find a way to connect the telephone. The desk clerk was unable to find someone to fix the problem. We asked if he would send someone to our room to knock on the door to wake us. He said that would be an extra charge. Water would only come out of the faucet in the bath. You could not get the water to flow from the shower head. The remote control for the TV was without batteries.

Although a little further from Gatwick airport than some other hotels, Russ Hill provides very good value for money for an overnight stay with secure parking, and very good shuttle bus to airport.

You get what you pay for and we will definitely pay more next time. Hotel is far away, but the coach service was punctual. However with the fee for the coach paid we could just as well have taken a better Hotel closer to the airport. The room was very small, bed very soft, bathroom very dirty, room very noisy and it had no windows! (apart from a very small one situated about 3 meters up on one wall, not much of a view there and we could not open it to get air in to the room, A/C was broken)

The rooms were comfortable, but very outdated. The television was very old, but this didn't really matter as the reason we were there was to get our heads down for some sleep before our flight. The other problem was no lift to the first floor; as we were going away for a week we had very heavy suit cases that had to be lugged up a large flight of stairs. Overall a very comfortable stay with no problems.

Car appeared to have been used in an off road rally due to amount of mud over the back, roof and left side. Obviously no care was taken in position of parking.
