The Oryx Lounge reviews

I had five hours to kill in Doha so I booked the Oryx Lounge on the advice of a work colleague. I found it terrific value for money, and particularly liked the fact that there were different 'lounge' areas to choose from. My chosen airline failed to feed me on the first leg of my journey so the unlimited food was particularly welcome. On the return leg of my trip my stop in Doha was much shorter so I didn't book the lounge, so I know the difference and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Very large lounge so could get away from TV pictures (no sound) if wanted to. Good selection of food and drink. Not crowded. Efficient desk service gave me my gate and boarding time when I arrived. Would definitely use again.

I booked this lounge mainly because I wanted to use the shower facility. There are only 4 showers and you have to ask for a towel. The shower jet is very weak but the water is thankfully hot enough. The cleaners sometimes don't clean up in time so you have to wait a while if someone else uses the shower before you. There are limited and comfortable lounge chairs with dimmed lights for resting or sleeping. The reception staff took a long time to process the check in. The staff at the food and beverage counters are efficient.

Good information re gate, flight times, etc given out as standard when checking into lounge. Very large area, well divided up with lots of seating. Food was fine. Enjoyed our time there.

I found the Oryx lounge at Doha very relaxing, the staff helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them, regretfully they are not responsible for other customers children who are not controlled by their parents. As requested by your good selves tried to get some photos for you but before doing so and as a matter of courtesy I asked the manager of the lounge if it would be OK, they would not allow me to take photographs,sorry. Snacks are good even if the choice is not very important. The plates are always full and a waiter ready to help you. The choice of soft drinks is good with european products. Alcoolic beverages are served in glass by the waiter. Everything else is selfservice. It's pleasant to take a shower when you are in transit beetween two flights. You can take a towel at the reception and in the shower you'll find shampoo and shower gel. Maybe the shower could be cleaned more often. The girls at reception are really not smily and the are very authoritarian.

As usual, the entrance staff didn't seem to recognise the gosimple print-out and had to ask a couple of superiors, and on top of that they were not very friendly. Once I got in, the place was OK for the money.
