"The room was very clean and comfortable. The only problems I found with the hotel was lack of communication. No one told me where to go when waiting for the transfer from the hotel and then the driver was waiting at the airport not the hotel. The transfer when I arrived back into England was Excellent and I can only assume that the mess up when leaving the hotel was a hic -cup"

"Very convenient and lovely staff. The room was comfortable and clean. Everything was good! If I am going to be picky, the fan in the bathroom and was rather loud and took a long time to stop after switching the light off. Also people are in and out but I guess that is the nature of the purpose. Would definitely recommend."

"The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a reasonable bar and restaurant. We booked a package which included car parking for eight days. We had to pay for the initial transfer by minibus to the airport and then taxi back - but this was all as expected. Reception staff were courteous and polite but only two people on duty, so expect a queue on arrival and when collecting your car keys at the end of your holiday."

"My husband and I used this hotel for our overnight stay prior to our Tunisian holiday over the past few weeks. We had selected the hotel based on facilities, especially gym and pool. The price also included 15 days parking. On arrival we were offered and upgrade for 30, which included breakfast. We would not have taken breakfast due to an early flight, so paid 20 for and upgrade (no breakfast). This gave us a Club a Room facility, free 'specified' drinks, one each and upgrade on the room. We tried twice with our Club Room key, but could not get in. There isn't a lot laid on in there, but we used the computer for printing our tickets. Staff are efficient, stay was comfortable. We did not use pool or gym as we wanted as accident on the infamous M25 made our journey 6 and half hours, should've been two, hey ho."

"We found the hotel very easy to get to. We did not like the trip to the other side of the road with our luggage, and also to cross the road again to eat at the resturant. The car park behind our room was noisy but we had a good night's sleep. Fred OLeary"

"Room Spotless. Check in good. onsite parking non existent as most of car park given to rental companies. Opted for off site parking very efficient as desk in hotel. transfer slow but only a 10 min walk to south terminal.Bar very expensive. Did not eat at hotel"

"Hotel itself was fine. Food very pub average. Inappropriate Christina aguilera 'dirty' video playing on the big tv screen in middle of family area. The whole point of booking it was to make our travelling to and from the Airport easier. Despite being told on the phone beforehand that the transfer buses are very frequent, when we arrived back at gatwick late afternoon on Monday this week and rang to find out the next bus time we were told it would be over an hour wait ( not ok when having just got off a flight with 3 young children). So we had to pay for a cab."

"You could hear people coming and going all through the night, therefore we did not get any sleep. The shower produced no hot water, but there was in the sink. The rooms look 'tired' now, but I suppose we expected this because of the price we were paying."

"Lovely hotel. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Parking experience extremely satisfactory we only had to wait minutes to get the car delivered to the airport after our flight and it was taken from the hotel after we checked in and parked easily at the front. Room very nice and clean. Hotel very airy and comfortable and of a really good standard all round."

"The George is a quaint little hotel set in the lovely town of Crawley. Our experience was an enjoyable one due to the quality of the hotel and its surroundings, which consisted of many shops, bars and restaurants. The only negative was the timekeeping of our driver who was 30mins late on the morning of our departure? Just as well the airport isn't too far away! All in all a pleasurable stay and would definitely re-visit next time I fly from Gatwick."

"Staying at the Hilton is a very civilised and relaxing way to start any holiday. The fact it is just a few minutes walk to departures, under cover, is the icing on the cake. We have usually stayed at a hotel further out having to use taxis to get to the airport, we definitely won't be doing that again that's for sure. Thoroughly recommended."

"Even with a 9am flight, being close to the airport the night before took a lot of stress away and a few extra hours in bed. The hotel was friendly, rooms clean and service very good. The bus shuttle that picked you up just outside reception runs every 15min at a cost of 3 per person one way. We were able to leave our car parked there and on return we just picked up the keys at reception and quickly get on. To have a lovely break away was further enhanced by the experience of using the Holiday Inn at the start and using their parking facility."

"The hotel was clean and bed reasonably comfortable. The bathroom 'wet room' shower arrangement was unsatisfactory, the water forming puddles in the room. (We had a 'disabled' room, as it happened.) Staff were helpful and pleasant. We did not eat at the hotel. Overnight parking was most unsatisfactory; there were not enough spaces to accommodate all the cars and we wasted time with awkward manoeuvring."

"Unfortunately our overnight stay at the Moat House( and I suspect for many other guests too) was spoiled by a very large group of young and extremely noisy and unruly Chinese children, running up and down corridors, shouting and generally making a nuisance of themselves until well past midnight, making getting to sleep impossible. We have used this hotel in the past without any problems and would hope that in future steps are taken to ensure that bookings of large groups of children are correctly supervised."

"The service at the hotel is excellent from the reception to room servcice to the bar and food availability. We dined in the restaurant and had a very good experience. The transfer service to the terminal was great we had no luggage to carry until we arrived and then it was a very short journey to the luggage reception."

"Clean, modern and stylish, this hotel was the perfect place to stay for the start of our holiday. We booked the stay and park at Airpark option, at just 12 more than parking alone, it was excellent value for money. The restaurant had a friendly and relaxing ambience, staff were attentive and helpful but the meals were a little expensive and the bar menu had limited choice. Overall, a positive experience that was better far than just parking."

"Entrance is enviting...customers service was ok Given room - lights did not work. The room was at the far end of the hotel and we had to walk all the way back with our luggage to ask fro another room. Second room had not been cleaned - again walked for miles and waited for ages Thrid room was another long walk and confusing directions. Room was small with bed against the wall so very difficult to get in & out. Mattress so soft we rolled to the centre of the bed - aweful sleep if any at all. Shower was dismal. Water took ages to warm up and then only stayed at luke warm temp....you had to put it on full power for the luke warm temperature - if oyu turned it down then it got cold...so my shower was at full power which was abit much. There was a sign asking to keep the shower curtain in side the shower cubicle - which I did - however the shower tray leaked and water soaked out and when I got out the shower ther was water under neathe the actual floor tiles that squelched as you took a step. Terrible. Pros were that our car was safe on our return, The changes of rooms was no issue for them (even though it was for us) At least the water was some what warm in the shower and not ice cold There were tea making facilities in the room - much needed and enjoyed Cons - they could have actually helped us get to our rooms instead of us walking about change after change. Aweful mattress"

"Overall good experience. Decent on-site restaurant and well provisioned rooms. Good and convenient transfer service. When we arrived (late afternoon/early evening) there was no-one on reception for some time which resulted in a long queue. When the staff member returned it took a while to get each car booked in, as the filing system seemed in slight disarray. When they found our booking we had to fill the form in, then take a label to the car and return to hand the keys in. Notwithstanding this I would definitely use Skylane again"

"The general condition of the hotel was poor. The dated interior is not helped by a lack of a 'good clean'. Our bathroom had mould on the shower curtain, and the rest of the room was little better. That said, if all you want is a place to crash and a place to park your car then this ticks those boxes...just not a place to relax"
