"The staff were very friendly and helpful. The car park at The Acorn hotels is quiet small and we were lucky to get a space. Within a few hours the car was transferred. Our room was small but had all the facilities we needed. The hotel did not have a lift which might be difficult for those in the higher rooms. The food in the hotel was very good. The meunu was extensive. We only had time for the continental breakfast because we had an ewarly flight. This was quite limited but good enough for our purposes. The transfer to the South Terminal was good. On return we phoned and were told that we had just missed the bus and it would be about 30 minutes but we were picked up 8 minutes later. It then went to the North terminal to pick up people who had waited much longer. The car park at the Cambridge hotel was full but big. It was however very dark. The car was unmarked and had only one additional mile on the clock. I would use the Acorn hotel again"

"The hotel is near to Gatwick and so transfer times are minimal 15 minutes. The hotel I suspect operates 1/2 service to airport and we were quickly met on our return. Not quite as secure as say Airparks sites are but car was moved close to hotel entrance on our return so no walks across dirty car parks."

"Hotel and rooms clean and tidy, staff very frendly and helpful. unfortuatly, the bus airport transfer was expensive and did'nt run to the timetable. car was moved from where it was left and parked under a fir tree for two weeks, hence it was covered in pine droppings"

"The arrival, check in, room etc were excellent and hotel was an excellent place to relax after a long journey. The initial transfer to the airtport in the morning was fine but the transfer from the airport stopped at 8.30pm. Not good when you arrive back at 10pm and the board at the airport says that they run regularly. Waited 45 mins before ringing the hotel to find we needed a taxi."

"We found the hotel very easy to get to. We did not like the trip to the other side of the road with our luggage, and also to cross the road again to eat at the resturant. The car park behind our room was noisy but we had a good night's sleep. Fred OLeary"

"Easy arrangements for parking; drive up to hotel, park car, hand in keys and go! Return to hotel by taxi with car waiting at the hotel. Easy transfers. Hotel staff a little surly, but room excellent, we would recommend and we would stay again."

"Stayed at Crown Plaza prior to our holiday,handed in car keys to be transfered to a secure car park. Enjoyed a lovely evening dinner withgood service. Met at Gatwick on our return and handed back our car. All in all it was a good and efficent service."

"Our bed was desperately uncomfortable, we could hear people in neighbouring rooms coming and going and banging doors. Parking it terrible and almost impossible. Very old hotel in need of some modernisation."

"You could hear people coming and going all through the night, therefore we did not get any sleep. The shower produced no hot water, but there was in the sink. The rooms look 'tired' now, but I suppose we expected this because of the price we were paying."

"Lovely hotel. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Parking experience extremely satisfactory we only had to wait minutes to get the car delivered to the airport after our flight and it was taken from the hotel after we checked in and parked easily at the front. Room very nice and clean. Hotel very airy and comfortable and of a really good standard all round."

"The George is a quaint little hotel set in the lovely town of Crawley. Our experience was an enjoyable one due to the quality of the hotel and its surroundings, which consisted of many shops, bars and restaurants. The only negative was the timekeeping of our driver who was 30mins late on the morning of our departure? Just as well the airport isn't too far away! All in all a pleasurable stay and would definitely re-visit next time I fly from Gatwick."

"We enjoyed the comfort and the meals before flying on and returning before we have the laborious journey back to Cornwall. We consider our stay as part of our holiday and look forward to staying the night as a relaxant after travelling up from Cornwall which we find extremely tiring as we are 70 years old. We look forward to our stay in November before flying to Spain."

"A courteous and efficient reception. Car parking first rate. Room as one would expect, but noisy if window open, overlooking the back of the hotel. The downside was the food, which was disappointing and expensive for what it was."

"I stayed in the Ibis the Thursday when the Volcano crisis started and of course my early morning flight the next day was cancelled like thousands of others. Reception could not of been more helpful should I have needed the extra night, and finding out all the info for us all. Certainly recommend this Hotel, also for the fact its so close to the Airport, 5 star thanks Steve Harris"

"We arrived quite late and found the car park to be not very well lit. Beds very comfy, good in room facilities with an amazing shower. Nice to have a choice between pub food / the restaurant for dinner."

"As I said above it did the job, It would be nice to return to a clean car after having my car parked under a tree for two weeks to find it covered in sap and bird droppings. I am sure people would'nt mind paying to have their car cleaned."

"The hotel was great however what was never mentioned is that you have to drive to the car park in the morning which was 4 miles away and then get a bus transfer. For me the whole point is to drive to hotel in the evening hand car in and then not worry about it, have a relaxing in morning without the aggravation of finding, driving to car park, long queue to book in then a packed shuttle bus"

"The service at the hotel is excellent from the reception to room servcice to the bar and food availability. We dined in the restaurant and had a very good experience. The transfer service to the terminal was great we had no luggage to carry until we arrived and then it was a very short journey to the luggage reception."

"music was too loud in restaurant, waiter could not hear and finished up by taking down an incorrect order. However manager soon rectified the problem. Pleasentley surprised with the quality of the food"

"The only thing that could have been better was the early morning call, which never happened. As we also had our alarm clock, which went off at the correct time (03.15), we were fine, but had it not we would have been in trouble. Everything else was of a high standard."

"The room was adequate and clean without any extras. The restaurants and food was very good as was the service. It was very good value for a 1 night stay and 1 weeks car parking and the transfers and timetables were very good. But we found the hotel rather run down and in need of an update although in lovely surroundings. We wouldn't like to stay more than 1 night and wouldn't recommend anybody else to."

"This was our third visit and sadly it was let down by lack of heating, hence such a poor rating for room condition. Our room was very cold on our arrival, Monday 16th Jan was quite a cold day and having driven to Gatwick straight from work were looking forward to having a warm shower to freshen up. After following the instruction on the heating panel we were unable to activate the system so called for help. This arrived very promptly and we were assured that we had actually switched on the heating but it would take a while to actually come through the heating vents. We questioned if the radiator in the bathroom, which was also cold, would also warm up but were told that unfortunately the radiators were not currently working. Our room did eventually warm up but the bathroom remained like a fridge for the whole of our stay. It was very disappointing to find that after much refurbishment the heating seemed inadequate. We would appreciate your comments."

"We stayed the night prior to an early morning flight the following day. Easy to find, great location, 1st class service from helpful staff and beautiful rooms with the most comfortable pillows ever! Would strongly recommend and will certainly use again."

"The general condition of the hotel was poor. The dated interior is not helped by a lack of a 'good clean'. Our bathroom had mould on the shower curtain, and the rest of the room was little better. That said, if all you want is a place to crash and a place to park your car then this ticks those boxes...just not a place to relax"

"The hotel smelt awful, the room was dirty, no toilet roll holder and no toilet roll, staff not interested, nightmare drive to airport by someone who clearly did not want to do it, and if that wasnt enough!!!! flea bites from the bed Ugh, take this place off your books !"
