There are a limited number of easy chairs so our party ( 5 tired adults) had to sit in hard chairs around a table after a long haul night flight until another party vacated the lounge leaving a sofa free. The floor around the area we sat in could have done with a hoover and we cleared their crockery away ourselves but perhaps if the area had been vacant long enough this may have been done but we were desperate to get into a comfortable chair asap so moved into the area as soon as the occupants left. We were not informed of the food menu available other than we were pointed in the direction of the snacks table which contained a few fairy cakes, a bowl of fruit and a lot of empty plates which probably did contain food at one point earlier in the day. when we asked if we could get something to eat we were given the menu from which we could choose from at no extra cost. When we recieved the food it was very good. we got through customs etc quicker than anticipated so my husband went to the lounge to see if we could gain entry earlier than we had booked but we were unfortunately told no as it get too crowded but if we wanted to go in 1 hour early we could but would need to leave an hour early!so we sat in the ternimal for an hour then went to the lounge and left when our three hours were up. The lounge was really quiet when we arrived and left and i am sure to allow us in early would not have caused any problems to anyone.

With the time you now have to arrive for flights due to security it is good to have somewhere to wait for your flight which is away from the hussle and bussle of the main terminal and to relax in comfortable surroundings with good service. This lounge fits the bill at a reasonable cost.

The lounge was modern and comfortable but drinks and other things on offer were not explained to us plus the upstairs was shut for a private party.

this was much better than the servisair lounge - better seating area for us with a very excited 6 year old! the food was excellent and the service very good. only one problem - there was only 1 toilet for everyone there, which meant there was always a queue.

have used no 1 lounge in past and impressed but this time on 21/12/09 - the toilet facilities were dirty - only partly open and had not been cleaned or attended to - may not use again

Go and enjoy the comforts of this airport lounge it was really lovely, the hospitatlity and food was amazing, I have been in many lounges around the world and this was up there at the top. It is very near to the shops so you can enjoy a drink and relax a while then just pop down stairs to purchase a few things in duty free. A wonderful experience and one I will do again if travelling out of Gatwick South Terminal. Highly recommended.

It was relaxing food was good, i couldn't work out how internet connection works but if I realy wanted i would ask the staff Will use it again

Poor service had to go looking for waiting staff twice,very slow food service and limited buffet

The lounge has very modern furnishings and nice views over the runway. You order drinks from the bar rather than helping yourself but also get a complementary snack (the eggs benedict was very good). There was only one person behind the bar although, when we visited, there was only one other guest so this wasn't a problem.

Like to use airport lounges prior to flights when possible. This has been first time with No.1 Gatwick. Found the setting and reception very pleasant. However was a little disappointed with available services. 2 of our party of 4 asked for a food item from the menu and informed that you had run out. Also found the drinks from the bar were very limited choice unless you were prepared to pay extra for alternatives not included in the paid lounge price. Staff were polite and helpful though regret to say that have had better service from some of your competitors.

I booked this lounge as a suprise treat for my brother and I as we were travelling out to Spain to see our parents who now live there. On entering the lounge I was pleasantly suprised by the view out to the planes and also the layout of the lounge. The sweeping stare case up to the mezzanine level was very aesthetically pleasing. I had a long time to examine this staircase as the only place we were able to find to sit was underneath it on a very uncomfortable bench seat. It would have been nice to have had some of the cereals or fresh fruits available but with only 4 or 5 bistro style tables available this was not possible. Those sat at tables did not want to move even though they were no longer eating and when one did become availble it was swooped on by other passengers who had been unable to find anywhere to sit at all. In the main lounge area was a large sofa and comfortable chairs which had been taken over by a large group of girls on a hen party. Half of them asleep and sprawled over the furniture thus making even less room available. I guess my point is that there should be some kind of etiquette enforced or perhaps the limit on spaces available needs to be reduced. This was supposed to be a stress free experience but I found it to be no such thing. The only plus point which I would like to add is that the staff were extremely pleasant and I could tell that they were stressed out to see that pasengers were unable to find seating after having paid for the priveledge of using the lounge.

We arrived and was welcomed into the lounge. After being offered a drink we were given a menu to select a snack Once this arrived it was 1st class. On a table were nibbles which we could help ourselves to which were also very enjoyable. We saw other quests using computers and there was also a wide screen TV to watch. The staff were all very friendly and would not hesitate to recommend this lounge to anyone. After another drink it was time to board our flight and was a very stress free way to start our holiday. Thanks No 1 Lounge.

Overall good, nice to have waiter service for drinks etc. Unfortunately refurbishment not complete, only one toilet working which was the disable one, and we were not told what was available to eat.

Reception was great and was told to take a seat and someone would come and offer refreshments.30 minutes later I still had not been served so had to stand at the bar to ask for a drink and to see the menu. The toilets were out of order and the only toilet avaiable was the disabled one.

Having been to several lounges we thought this one was very good. As we left home at 5.45am, it was nice to be able to have some breakfast here and not go into the main airport lounge. The staff were helpful and very pleasent.

On our return we had 7 hours in gatwick so we also booked the wentworth lounge, but only when we arrived diriect with the lounge, again both excellant and will certainly use them again next time.

A quiet lounge away from the shops and crowds with view overlooking the runway. Some newspapers available. Food and drinks choice is ok. Care - please note this lounge is located beyond the ticket checking/security zone up the stairs at the far right hand side of the duty free area

Great way to start a holiday, good selection of snacks. Fantastic value.

No 1 lounge is quiet and peaceful, service was attentive but there could have been a little more choice in the self service buffet. Would book again as the tranquillity alone was worth the price and the views over the airport were superb.

it was ok....but there agaain it doesn't take much to lay on a room with afew comfy chairs in and drinks/nibbles.
