Surroundings are excellent.Comfortable and relaxing.Staff are also very attentive.Super view over the runways watching the planes take off. The ladies toilet was out of order and as it was the only one it meant using the disabled toilet.Drinks,cereals,fruit etc were upto the usual good standard.Both of us made the same comment when we tried eating our bacon bap/egg benedict.The bread bap was inedible.As we had an early booking,no alternative was available. The number one lounge is the top of the price range at Gatwick and consequently the food should match.

No meusli. Corn flakes and rice crisps only. No fresh fruit apart from lemons and limes. Water difficult to obtain. Disappointing after a good start by Lounge No. 1.

Not the easiest of places to find, signs and directions prety poor! However although more expensive than other lounges, I did enjoy the facilities but the Vroom operated by Virgin atlantic is equally as good and the food much better!

No seating. Short staffed. Upstairs was closed. We were in a party of 10 and booked in June 10. Very disappointing.

The lounge is in a super position and its easy to go shopping from there. Good views over the runway and not a windowless box as some are. Good was really nice - nothing over special but just what was needed whilst waiting for the flight.Will most certainly use it again if flying from Gatwick

Staff very friendly. Continental breakfast super, also bacon roll cooked freshly. Lounge very clean and comfortable - a good start for any journey. Tables kept clean.

Faciilities excellent One of the best world wide lounges we have availed of would thoroughly recommend anyone to choose this lounge in Gatwick South Terminal

Signage to the lounge was poor. On entry we were told to take a seat and our order would be taken. We waited, and then waited some more. In the end I had to return to the counter to see if I could place my order. There was no apology. On the main table there was not granulated sugar, I asked if we could have some and the waitress said she would get some. I didn't see her again. The lounge was not particularly busy yet the service was poor. The selection of food and drink lacked variety. And the orange juice was tepid rather than chilled. We felt we would have been better served by using one of the airports main commercial outlets. This in no way enhanced our travel experience, in fact it made me quite angry. I would never use this facility again.

No.1 lounge was a wonderful experience, a secret hideaway from the bright lights & bad seating of Gatwick airport. No.1 gave us comfortable seating, great food & drink and wonderful service, we loved it! a boutique hotel type escape and well worth the money.

the service is second to nun. the food is very good and the champaine well lets just say it did not run out. one in the cap for virgin. very well done.
