Luton Airport Short Term Parking

London Luton Airport, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU2 9LY

Short Term (also known as Yellow) Parking is the premium parking service at Luton Airport. No transfer is necessary, just use the covered walkway to reach the terminal.

arrival

The Luton Short Term car park operates an Automatic Number Plate Recognition system, so it is essential to enter the correct vehicle registration when making your booking. We recommend that you bring a printed copy of your booking confirmation with you.

Drive up to the entry barrier and press the button for a ticket. Your vehicle registration and booking reference will be printed on your ticket. If the system fails to recognise your vehicle, please take a ticket from the entry barrier. Follow the signs to the nearest available spaces, park your vehicle and make a note of where you have parked, then make your way to the nearest bus stop.

Please note that the car park recommends you arrive at least 30 minutes before your earliest required airport check-in time.

departure

Collect your vehicle and drive to the exit barrier. Place the ticket you acquired upon entry into the exit column, and the barrier should automatically raise, allowing you to exit.

If the exit column display shows a price, press the intercom button and quote your booking reference number.

If for any reason the barrier does not raise, press the intercom button and car park staff will assist you. Please explain that you have pre-booked and quote your booking reference number or booking confirmation.

If you have stayed in the car park longer than the amount of time you pre-booked, you will have to pay the extra amount before you go. The amount owed will show in the exit column display and you can pay by credit or debit card.

This is the most convenient of the car parks at Luton but the price for short term parking is a little on the expensive side. Ok if you do not have much time to be bothering with waiting around for buses.

Great if you are in a rush and don't want to wait for buses, do transfers, etc. 5min walking from the terminal. It could be cheaper...

It is a little expensive at 25/day or so late booking, and also completely fails to recognise your car so that 11pm when you really want to go home you are stuck at the barrier for 10 minutes while the miserable sounding woman shifts herself from her busy solitaire game to answer the assistance call...

Easy is the key word here. Number plate recognition meant that we just drove to the car park, found a space and parked up before taking a short walk to the terminal building. Returning home was equally easy and we were homeward bound on the M1 in less than one hour after landing. Convenient, quick and without problems. Highly recommended.

Having booked this, we took the confirmation with (just in case). However, we didn't need a thing.....entered the car park, took a ticket, found a space, parked up, walked to departures and went away. We then returned from our trip, walked from arrivals to collect the car, drove to the exit, inserted our ticket and drove home. Nothing could have been simpler: it was cost effective and very easy. We would not hesitate to use this service again.

Low scores given don't really give the right impression. There were no staff but none were required. The carpark had a lot of debris but no damage caused to my car. It was close to the terminal and very convenient but I thought that the cost was high for a days parking. It all worked as advertised though with no hindrance leaving afterwards.

The signs could be a bit better as we weren't sure we were in the right car park. The ground surface was rather broken up. Our plane was delayed on the return journey but I'm happy to say this did not casue us any problems on leaving the car park. I couldn't see any staff around when we were there.

Automated number plate recognition and tickets worked as advertised. We went for 6 days and found that discounted short term parking booked in advance for 60 quid was worth it for simplicity, compared with cheaper alternatives which involve transfers and waiting for a pickup of some kind. Would have taken inexpensive valet parking of some kind if it this option weren't available

Convenient in terms of distance however walk way to terminal needs to be read tarmaced. Not an easy walk when pulling cases.
