The hotel was basic but clean and we were satisfied with our stay in that respect. The problems were with the transfers. We set off at 4.30 am to drive to another Britannia hotel, having been given written instructions. These were difficult to read because it was dark, so we resorted to the sat nav and managed to arrive at 4.50 am - plenty of time for our 5.00 am transfer. However, taxis came and went, including a minibus, but none of them were for us. Eventually, we insisted that the man on reception should find out what had happened to our transport. After some time, he said that it hadn't been booked by the Ashley Hotel. We eventually got picked up by a taxi at around 5.30 am and we did make it for our flight - but it was stressful! On our return, we waited around 15 mins for a minibus at the terminal. Having given the docket to the driver, we then picked up further passengers from other terminals and began the return journey. Neither of the hotels where we were taken was the one where our car was parked. At this point, the driver realised that we should have been on a different bus (although he had our name on his list). Our car was 15 miles away but fortunately, the driver took us all the way there and we were eventually reunited with our car.

Hotel room was very basic with the window wedged open for air circulation. No on site parking meant that we had to drive for 15 mins early morning to the country house for airport parking which was not convenient

Our stay at the Ashley was a very pleasant one, with a cheap bar which hosted a good atmosphere my only main issue with the hotel was it didn't have its own parking.

I booked the Ashley for a trip to Old Trafford with my son, having seen the hotel on the internet. I rang the hotel in mid afternoon to confirm the booking and was dealt with by a very nice woman. After the match I rang again to check directions to the hotel from Old Trafford and again was attended to by a very obliging male who explained in simple terms the directions. Having arrieved at the hotel this man, the night porter, was under extreme pressure trying to organise bookings and serve in the bar. I personally had no difficulty with my booking as I had rang earlier but witnessed people who had difficulties. If there was help at hand it would have made life easier for everyone.

Hotel was good with many restaurants within walking distance. The park and fly experience was excellent especially since we were travelling with 2 small children.
