There was a shortage of loungers for the number of seats. People were trying to sleep between two curved back chairs. It was difficult to sleep as noise was not controlled . Some noise is inevitable but speaking quietly should be a requirement in certain areas.

On outward and homeward flights I had 8-hour transfers in Doha: too short to get out for a hotel night. Flying eco, the transfer halls are not ideal for spending the night. The "quiet zones" with relax chairs are an option but for 40 USD the Oryx lounge is much quieter, clean and allows a 3-hour nap in semi-soft armchairs. Staff is friendly. Lounge is congested until past midnight. It's best to let this pass and to use the 6-hour slot after 1 AM. Good snacks.

Quite comfortable lounge with range of food and drinks, good customer service and necessary facilities to spend few hours waiting for the flight; Large space but quite busy...

We stayed at the oryx lounge for the maximum length of stay as our layover was 8 hours in the middle of the night. We have a 4 year old child. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food presentation was lovely and the staff were constantly servicing the area. Quality food and large choice of pastries and drinks. Be aware that there are only 10 'bed' style chairs. The capacity for customers would be in the hundreds I'm sure- so I did notice a fair bit of 'fighting for a chair bed' if someone had finished with one and others were moving in. So not a great place for putting up your feet. I would recommend that they create a 'quiet area' for customers looking to nap. Next to the chair beds are lounge seating and there were customers up drinking and talking very loudly. The staff was great and brought out cereal as a special request for our 4 year old as it was the middle of the night and the mezze platter on offer didn't interest her. The shower is a touch on the cold side and not very powerful. I normally wouldn't comment on this, but being cold and tired in the middle of the night (and the effort taken to have a shower)- I feel that a bit of warmth and a quality shower would make a big difference.(Ask the staff for towels) I am not sure if I would stay again because of the price.Perhaps only if I could use the maximum 6 hour stay. Anything less than 4 hours and it would be easy enough to spend the money on a nice meal and find a quiet place to rest in the terminal. Overall, the staff were lovely and facilities were exceptionally clean.

We have been at lounge during the night for 6 hours. It was not overcrowded so we could put together two chairs and slept. I think it was impossible in the daytime, because in the morning came a lot of people. In whole lounge is very convenient if you need to stay in airport all the night.

The lounge has excellent food and washing facilities but it really needs more reclining chairs and quiet areas where people can get some sleep for a few hours. I was sitting next to a snoring man who kept me awake all night. Apart from this, the facilities are good. Showers, towels and toothbrushes are available.

Nice food, but nothing special. Helpful staff, once you got a hold of them. Nice showers, and a relaxed atmosphere. Made my 7 hours in Doha a pleasure.

Even in the wee hours of the morning, the lounge was crowded and noisy. There were very few recliners so I wasn't a lot more comfortable than sitting in the terminal. The food was better than I expected and there was lots of it.

One of the worst out there. I know they are making a new airport but this is not an excuse for the sorry state of the lounge. Frankly , I expected better.

Found it easy to book and locate. It is a nice quiet spot but still close to everything. More recliners and perhaps more relaxing lounge chairs would be better but still very good.

I had a layover of 9 hours in Doha in the middle of the night (11pm), and this was a much better option compared to waiting outside at the airport gates. They could put more of the recliners in the quiet zone. If you're lucky to get one of those seats, then you can catch a few hours sleep.

Don't expect a gourmet meal but this is well worth the money. The food was fine and the drinks were never ending and you even got table service for "free" wine or beer.

Seats were not that comfortable. Food was not that great especially for vegetarians. I would not recommend. On the contrary if you do not need to use your mobile phone there are some quiet areas outside the Oryx lounge that seemed to more comfortable where one can spend few hours on a comfortable seat.

Doha airport is a pretty horrible place, tons of transit passengers, nothing to do but sit on uncomfortable benches. I'm glad I decided to stay at the lounge, there are snacks available and a few recliners where you could easily sleep if you manage to grab one, I was lucky to do so and got 5 hours of sleep. If I'm ever crazy enough to fly with QR and transit through Doha I'll stay here again.

I found the Oryx Lounge to be a calm, quite and comfortable place compare to the rest of hectic and busy Doha Airport. The shower facility was appreciated however I wish there were more loungers available.

The lounge functions well for those travelers who have a lay over of up to 3 hours but as my layover was 9 hours I felt the lounge could offer more. For example, using the Japanese model of student sleep over cocoons. Take away the sleeping chairs and replace with stacked cocoons that allow the traveler to LIE down and be comfortable and SLEEP. In the stacked format you will cater for more people than the existing lounge chairs. Equip with a timer so that travelers get up in time for their ongoing flights. After just having googled the concept the correct name for this type of accommodation is capsule hotel. Ultimate space efficiency for sleeping. The size is 2m x 1m x 1m and stacked in 2 rows.

It was really good to have such a nice place to rest during the 9-hour long transit. It had taken off a great amount of stress. I would certainly recommend this facility.
