For many years I have been using a number of off airport parking services at Manchester. I have always suspected on airport parking would be prohibitively expensive. How wrong could I be! Furthermore, T1 long Term car park proved to be so much more convenient.
Unfortunately on arrival the machine did recognize my card and so I had to be let in via the speaker, having finally understanding each other the voice assured me it was quite a common occurence. On my return the only problem was landing at terminal 2 and having to walk what seemed like miles with heavy luggage, to T1 arrivals. Once there we boardedthe bus and were back with our car within 10 mins.
Quite surly drivers on both trips - no help offered with bags, and eager to set off even before everyone seated. Otherwise fine.
The Parking system is a good one. You slot your payment card (the one you paid with for your booking)into the barrier machine which gives you a ticket and lets you into the Car Park. You do the same on return (it wouldnt accept my Card)but I pressed the help button who asked for my Booking Ref and I was let out. It's a little more convenient than off airport parking as don't have as far to travel but you must be prepared to wait for a transfer bus who's stops are quite spaced out so on a rainy day you may get rather more wetter than the off airport option. Also on return everyone was confused as to which bus was doing which Terminal as they all use the same stop but don't specify on the front. Be prepared for a scenic trip around all the airport terminals etc.I would use it again as it is a quicker option just wish it was'nt so expensive.
very good, lots of spaces, with a good transfer to the terminals.
Everything was good, except one unfriendly driver on the way to the airport.
I was supprised how quick and easy it was. I travelled alone and it is the first time I have left the car in Manchester when travelling alone. Maybe I was extra lucky both ways. It is advertised as 5 mins and 10 mins. I think the 5 mins was supposed to be the travel time and the 10 mins the waiting time.(could be the other way round) I waited no more than a couple of minutes both ways and the journey to and from terminal 1 were both a lot less than 5 mins.
Will use the car park again the directions to the car park sent by gosimply.com were very good transfer time to T1 was very quick all adds up to excellent value for money
the pre paid credit card worked especially well, no tickets to bother with, card in at gate to enter, card in at gate to exit, simple.
I was a bit anxious as i'd never been to this airport/car parks but the directions were absolutely clear and accurate. No hiccups with entering and locating the carpark (had already pre-paid), bus stops were near so didn't have to walk any distance and only waited a couple of minutes each way. I would definitely use this car park again.
My only 'problem' was that the card reader for the barrier would not recognise the card I paid and booked with. However the staff were on hand to open the barrier from name and the booking reference. I will use this car park again.
We did,nt have to wait for buses coming or going, the parking was excellent, the only problem was we could, get the credit card in (we had pre booked) but the man on the intercom was very friendly and quickly got us sorted out
