transfers to Gatwick Airport

  • Bus G5 runs to the airport hourly, at quarter past the hour, from 4.15am to 11.15pm, arriving at the South terminal at 35 minutes past and the North Terminal five minutes later. Tickets cost £4.50 each way for adults and £2.50 for children aged six to 12; children under six travel free, and a family ticket for two adults and two children costs £9. If you would prefer a taxi, which will take about 10 minutes, the hotel recommends Roadrunners (01342 324444), who charge £11.50 for a four-seater and £23 for an eight-seater.
  • For customers who need to get to the hotel from the airport, the bus leaves from stop 9 at the South terminal at 35 minutes past the hour from 4.35am to 11.35pm, and stop 8 at the North terminal five minutes later. The journey does take about 35 to 40 minutes, because the bus goes via the Holiday Inn Gatwick Worth, so customers may prefer to get a taxi.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a reasonable bar and restaurant. We booked a package which included car parking for eight days. We had to pay for the initial transfer by minibus to the airport and then taxi back - but this was all as expected. Reception staff were courteous and polite but only two people on duty, so expect a queue on arrival and when collecting your car keys at the end of your holiday.

Could not find anyway to park had to wait 20 mins. Rooms tatty with stains on table from tea cups, noisy central heating system. Shuttle bus did not turn up at 04.15 in the morning. Staff at the reception had no eye contact, think they were use to complaints. Letter sent to hotel manager to share our experience.

Had a lovely stay, the staff were helpful and he hotel clean. It was a help to get to the airport early for our flight. Only issue we had was we went out for dinner and when we got back the was no where to park due to a wedding. If your thinking about leaving the hotel on a Saturday DON'T it'll take ages to park again and if cars have just been "dumped" it makes the roads very narrow. Apart from that we'll work it to start your holiday.

Placed in a shabby, tired room with a dirty carpet that should have been replaced years ago.

No TV. No phone. No hot water. No debit card facility. No customer service. Don't be fooled by the exterior and lobby, this hotel is Fawtly Towers minus the humour!

Our experience was all positive. The Reception service was excellent - all of our questions and queries were dealt with quickly and with a lovely smile. The parking facilities were excellent and allowed us to enjoy our holiday without niggling worries at the back of our minds. Well done Copthorne.

Don't dine in the main dining room. £45 for a dire meal that was put to shame by the Greek cooking we had on holiday for half the price. Please teach the chef that meat needs to be cooked and tender not running blood and so tough you can't chew it (we only ate the vegetables and when we complained was met with a shrug of the shoulders). Room very comfortable, but let down by coffee table with mug and cup marks all over it (table cloths are good btw) which didn't look very nice. Great for airport transfers though which was what we wanted

I had a deal so it was excellent value for money. A friendly and smart hotel. I would definitely return. Trip to the airport and the car parking works well although I don't understand why the bus trip to get back was over twice as long as the trip to the airport. Only down points were the poor state of the carpet in my room which was not in tune with the rest of the hotel which was very smart and more importantly, the pool was out of action, I was really looking forward to a swim.

The hotel was fine, when I eventually found it - not the Millennium Hotel nearest to the airport, but it was further down the road - the directions weren't the best. The transfer by bus from the hotel was OK, as I was running late and only waited for about 2 minutes - not a complimentary transfer (it was £4.50 for an adult). The transfer bus from the airport did not arrive at the scheduled time on a Saturday morning; the advertised gap between buses was 40 minutes, but we waited for approx. 90 minutes for the bus that took over 30 minutes to complete a 5 minute journey. I spoke to the hotel afterwards and learnt that a taxi from the airport would have cost £14.50 - I would have taken the taxi, rather than struggle with the bags after as long haul plane journey. The bus 'service' is managed (not very well) by the airport, not the hotel.
