The service at the hotel is excellent from the reception to room servcice to the bar and food availability. We dined in the restaurant and had a very good experience. The transfer service to the terminal was great we had no luggage to carry until we arrived and then it was a very short journey to the luggage reception.
Perfect way to start a holiday, we travelled to Gatwick from Newcastle Upon Tyne for a morning flight to the caribbean the next day. Overnight was comfortable, excellent room facilities, quiet and exceptional service from the staff on reception and in the restuarant. Excellent evening meal available and wide ranging choices for breakfast, just a very slow toaster!!!! Only problem concerns the airport signage, quite difficult to find the specific stop for the transfer bus to the Quality Inn. Should also have a sign at the bus stop to show you are the right place and there should be a timetable
enjoyed the evening stay. found it much much easier to walk to terminal rather than go on bus and much quicker (especially as we checked in at 8pm so went backwards and forwards a few times). meal was nice. only con was that there was no wake up call service so we used mobile alarms rather than fuss with trying to set up in room phone call. will stay again!
Due to an oversight on my behalf as a result of a rather vague website (to me anyway) I found on check in that I had only booked a day room. My experience has always been that you book a hotel with the understanding that it is for the night and if required the day room needs to be specified. I have complained to the booking agent. Fortunately your manager of the day I believe his name was Tom was extremely helpfull and we resolved the situation. Many thanks to him. Regards Eugene
My wife and I have never stayed in a hotel the night before flying. As we had an early flight we thought we'd give it a go. We were really pleased with the location and found ourselves really relaxed and stress free after taking a 5 minute walk over to the North Terminal in the morning. We were so pleased with the way it got our holiday off to a relaxing start that we are going to book here again before our next holiday. The staff were very friendly and willing to assist. Food was great, and overall thought it was all value for money.
Overall the hotel was good value for the price and the one night pre-flying that we booked, the only drawback is the dining area is too close to reception so when you are sitting trying to eat everyone is trying to book in/out so you don't really relax as much as you'd like. The rooms are lovely and clean and well stocked with shampoo/showergel of good quality and tea/coffee and you can take your meal to your room.
Booked day package by mistake but found nothing on the site to xplain what it was. Following a complaint the site now displays information. One unhappy customer following poor response from yourselves. Felt that an offer of reduced rooms could have been offered as goodwil. Was wiling to book 2 rooms for return journey.
There were not enough staff on duty at the Summer Special which considerably extended the transfer time to the airport. As a result we only just made our flight. A stressful experience which we as a family with two young children would not wish to repeat. Will seriously consider alternative arrangements getting to the airport another time.
Enjoyed 500 yard walk to hotel as weather was dry and frosty but not advisable if wet and windy. Reception area is adequate but can be rather crowded at busy times and very close to bare and dining, so area can be limited...otherwise room was spacious and bathroom served the needs for overnight residence.
The bus service to the airport was not reliable. When the bus arrived for the 6.40 pm pick up we were told by the driver that his relief did not turn up for work and he had to return to the depot. We were left there with no means of getting to the airport for our 8.00 pm flight. HOWEVER, the people at the hotel were extremely helpful in providing us with a taxi at their cost for our inconvenience for which we were most grateful. We will definitely be using this hotel again.
Whilst appreciating that costa are incurred that need to be covered, and in no way minding having to pay, I feel that the term courtesy coach would imply a free service, apart from this it was an excellent hotel experience and I would use this hotel again and recommend it wholeheartedly for its all round customer experience
Reception staff very helpful and considerate. We only stayed the one night so didn't have time to use dining facilities, but was impressed with level of service and thought given to needs of families.
Clean with excellent, polite staff and very reliable transfers to air terminals at Gatwick.
Good value for money, with all the facilities required prior to travelling. I liked being able to eat my meal in my room as I was travelling on my own. The airport transfer coach was also very efficient.
Thought this hotel was very good for the money, clean and modern. Paid £150 to include 15 days parking at Summer Special, which all went very smoothly. Did not hear aircraft noise at all, only noise from other guests in corridor but that is to be expected in an airport hotel. I didn't sleep much, too excited, but rest of family slept OK. Note: beds are pretty firm so beware if you like soft beds.
We only stayed one night, but found this Hotel very comfortable and in an ideal position. All the Staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast very good, but dinner was probably average.
Generally very happy. Reception sorted out a problem with the booking quite quickly and with little fuss. I don't remember being warned about the parking charges for overnight parking as well as paying for the room.
I think i have made my point above about the negative side of the visit. The guy in charge of the restuarant seemed to like to welcome you but was not what i would term as professional and helpful. We saw a group asking to be seated together, he would not accommodate them (8 people) yet there were at least four two people tables which could easily have been put together. He made them wait and then in the end when they "made a fuss" did put the tables together. The whole situation could easily have been dealt with earlier. It was a bit embarassing to watch him play the "boss". The service from the two poor waiters/resses was however fine and they did their best but were obviously under pressure to cover too many tables.
Would recommend purely for airport access. Hotel is simply functional; lacks character.
Most impressed to only pay £7.50 per head for breakfast and a jolly good selection to choose from. Staff were extremely helpful also.
