Well situated, equiped and with a very adequate restaurant and all at a very good price.
We took the option of hotel stay and up to 8 days parking at Parking Express - this stated transfers to all terminals, when we got to the car park we found out that they did not go to terminal 5, so we had to get the bus to terminal 4 and pay a taxi to terminal 5 £18.
The heating was set very high and I couldn't adjust it without putting on the air conditioning which would have been very noisy. The had a bar meal in the evening which was cold as it appeared the waitress had left it standing at the back for a while efore bringing it out. I stayed at the hotel again on my way home and decided not to eat at the hotel because of this experience.
The bed had the hardest surface (not counting the floor) I've ever slept on in my 63 years. Room facilities - beverages poor - no coffee and only one teabag. Some shower gel and or shampoo would have been appreciated. Soap was of postage stamp size! Otherwise everything was fine and the reception and restaurant staff were friendly and efficient.
After booking an expensive holiday we learned that our return flight to Heathrow was later than the last shuttle flight out and declined the offer of an expensive hotel by the Travel Company. Having booked on-line, we were pleasantly surprised how fast the Reception dealt with our arrival as compared with other arrivals. We found that the Ibis Hotel more than catered for our needs and would definitely use this hotel again under similar circumstances.
Unfortunately I arrived at the same time as a number of passengers for a flight the following morning and subsequently this put the three reception staff under considerable pressure. Two out of three lifts were not operational, either on arrival at night or the following morning, and using stairs to and from the 4th floor is not what I bargained for.
Very reasonably priced, efficient front desk service, friendly and very clean. I was very happy with my overnight stay here and would certainly use this hotel again.
Drinks were overpriced, compared to the bowling alley next door, if they can keep their prices down so can the Hotel. Room was very small, fancy names on the menu, but food was what I would expect to find in my local pub resturant, not in an international Hotel chain. Next time I use Heathrow I will pick a better standard of hotel.
The rooms are a bit poky. Other than that OK for one night.
On our return, and with the production of our parking slip the desk clerk couldn't find our prepaid accommodation and parking booking this became embarassing as she obviously didn't believe us. We had to search for our original paperwork and she she still didn't believe us. Surely once a booking is on their computer they should be able to bring up all the details? This incident marred an, up to then, perfect booking.
The room was really tiny and had no comfortable seating.
