This hotel was easy to find, had loads of room and holiday parking. The staff were welcoming and friendly. It felt like a real 'home from home'. The food was lovely and the bar felt welcoming. Pick up on return was very prompt (no need to ring from baggage collection!). I would happily stay here again.

Easy to locate; not a lot of other eating places nearby; very convenient for both airport terminals with good transfer service. We will use it again.

Do not stay in this hotel until the upgrade building work is finished. After a long flight arriving at 2300 we were given a room which was cold. The heating system was off. At 0130 we had to wear our day clothes in bed because it was so cold. I have written to the owner ( Mr atel ) requesting a refund due to the considerable discomfort we we had to endure. I have not had a reply and suspect that I will not get one.

dirty, unhelpfull, food expensive and not nice, and most of all they dont tell you when booking that the shuttle bus doesnot run between 12am and 6am we were left 2 women at the airport with no money and no way of getting back to the airport due to this

Hotel has seen better days, a bit run down. The restaurant was cold and dominated by a huge TV showing the sports channel. The food was surprisingly good, albeit a bit pricey. Collection from the airport a bit hit and miss if at a busy time for the receptionist as system relies on the receptionist tasking the driver to collect passengers.

If you are staying overnight and not fussed at all about standards then it will probably suit. Make sure you BOOK your minibus pace otherwise like a number of us you will NOT get a transfer and will have to get a taxi instead. The rooms/en suites need fully renovating. Staff were nice enough but food and overall standards were below par. The only advantage is the price but be warned there are draw backs!

A very efficient and helpful hotel. Booking in was simple and easy as was the return visit to collect the car. The hotel is very near the airport which made a taxi ride simple and not too expensive. Well done Skylane - we will be happy to return if the need arises.

I have travelled extensively to and to some third world countries, but this hotel beats the lot for shabbiness and cleanliness, I was appalled to be given a room with dirty sheets and bedding, a disgusting bathroom, I felt sorry for the people on reception because they have to face the customers when they're angry.

I've stayed here before and will do again, but not in summer as the rooms were very hot. The hotel is comfortable but very tired, it really needs remodeling and there is no lift/elevator but I'm sure the staff would assist if you needed help with luggage. The airport transfers are first rate and that's the main reason I would use this hotel again. Oh, and the bar does a good burger and decent bottle on plonk.

Our only disappointment was the fact that we did not realise we were not entitled to be picked up from Gatwick Airport when we arrived at 2.30 a.m. and so when we rang the hotel we were told to ring for a taxi. We had to wait 40 minutes for a taxi.

The staff seemed to be tolerating our being there. In the morning, the men on staff would not set up the continental breakfast because the lady who was to do it was late. We did not get a refund for the breakfast. How hard could it be to put out rolls and start hot water? All in all a bit much for the service and comfort.

The Skylane Hotel was run down and dirty with no chance of transfers as the minibus had only 8 seats and to many people wanting to get to the airport. The staff were not helpful and quite rude. I would never use or recommend this hotel to anyone

We were happy enough with the hotel we specifically chose to stay at gatwick for convieience in the morning as check-in was early.However on arrival we wre told they were overbooked with the car parking and had to be transfered to another car park in the morning. We were travelling from the north terminal and once at the car parking we were told the bus only took us to the south termilnal and then we had to make our own way back to the north terminal. By which time we were running late!!!!

The room was scruffy with a view from the window that an asylam seeker would be horified by. Our bathroom sink was blocked and the shower we hoped to have on our day of departure did not materilise as the shower was broken . The bath was too ingrained with limescale to allow us to even take a bath. We advised the hotel that we require a refund and they made a note of this . We ask you to ensure we receive it - Please confirm.

Room clean ok for 1 night. No food selection at 9pm when arrived. Took too long to collect from South terminal 40 mins on return journey then went to North terminal where no one was waiting for collection.Other companies had done two collection trips before we were collected.

We found the room clean and adequate for the 1 night we were spending at the hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on food. The transfer was on time and efficient, plus the return transfer was equally efficient. Overall I would say it is ideal for 1 night when catching an early flight.

My wife being six months pregnant, I was not happy she had to walk through a maze of corridors and up several flights of stairs to get to our room, not to mention carrying our two suitcases and hand luggage up myself without assistance from any staff. Also the condition of the room was poor, shower non-existent and the sheets didn't feel like they had been cleaned. Didn't sleep a wink all night unfortunately...

I booked through your website & selected this hotel because the advertising on the site implied that smoking rooms were available eg "non smoking rooms available on check-in subject to availability". This was 6 weeks after UK went smoke free but your web site had not been updated to reflect the change in law. Had it done so I would have chosen a hotel closer to the airport & no doubt found a room of equal & possibly superior quality for the same amount of money. My room was shoddy and the hotel generally run down though the staff were pleasant and obliging. On my regular carpark smoke breaks I noticed a number of staff enjoying their own smoke breaks in the same place.
